This kinda title always give people a negative feeling, doesn't it?
Haha! Well, life is not that negative for me, but some hiccups here and there... Which is enough already.
Work is fine, I just came back from San Francisco and Korea (Incheon). Worked hard and 挂了彩. haha. Got awarded a cut on my index finger and a burnt mark on my arm. Please, don't become a permanent mark, if not I will wonder if my company will continue to keep me or not. LOL
The 2 places are fun, went sightseeing, shopping, had good food. I had breakfast buffet at the hotel in SFO and had dinner buffet at the hotel in Incheon, with my colleagues. They are very nice to me, and I received praises of my good attitude at work.. :)
But, I did not really enjoy myself that much too.
The day before I flew, my dad went for a body check up at NUH and he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, after 9 years, but this time, it's on the opposite as before. So, the irritating thing is, after knowing this, I still have to report for work in the early morning on the next day.. I got to work as normal, smile to colleagues and customers... and to be away for 7 whole days.. not able to accompany my dad...
On Wednesday, the results of the CT scan came out. There is cancer but luckily there is no spread to other organs and whatsoever. I was relieved, but I seriously can't wait to go home... :S
My parents were so happy to see me back at home. Especially papa... I can see and feel his sense of relief when he sees me back at home. And he started WHINING to me...LOL..so cute..
But, that also shows his insecurity and fear. Now, it's my turn to give a sense of security to my parents. And I am glad that I am able to provide that security for them. Switching of roles. When we were young, we often have to rely on our parents for everything we need. Perhaps many of us are still relying on our parents, including myself of course, because most of our parents are still healthy and working to provide for the family. But after this incident, I suddenly realise, things may change all of a sudden. Everything can swap positions. So, we have to be prepared. We are already adults, right?
My dad will be undergoing an operation on Friday, and he will be admitted to the hospital on Thursday, hope I won't be called up for work on Wednesday so that I can go with him, together with my brother. He is scared. Who won't? Last night he could not sleep. He told my mum that he is afraid. Haiz...poor papa... I hope after the operation he will become very healthy and happy. Same for my mama..she's been suffering as well...
Everything will be alright! :)
Streets of Chinatown
Chinatown in San Francisco (reminds me of the 海外华人 module in NUS, haha)
Fisherman's Wharf
St Paul and St Peter's Church (where Marilyn Monroe got married)
Inside the church. It's a Catholic church...so during the prayer, I suddenly felt a sense of "belonging" to it, reminds me of my secondary school days.. :)
Digress a bit here...this pic was taken in Auckland. Very pretty right? It contains the envelopes and hotel information...if you wanna bring them home, especially the box..you gotta pay... :)
Seals! Oops..sorry they are sea lions and not seals.. acoording to the description at the Wharf..there's a difference between sea lions and seals... most of it that we see at the zoos which performed are sea lions and not seals.. I forgot what's the difference... hehe..
I like this pic. The gal is pretty and the guy is suave and cool...ahem...I mean the other gal looks handsome...but gals, pls don't fall for me cos I'm straight! LOL!!
(OMG pls don't throw shoes at me!! I'm just joking! :P)
The Golden Gate Bridge right behind me!
Santa Claus gallery in Incheon's hotel. Did not take many pictures there, and most of the pics are with my colleagues...LOL
