I got the job!
Ok, I went to apply for air stewardess job with my friend on Sunday. And after spending 2 days of interviews, I got the job! I left one last round, which is the medical checkup, before I officially get the job (meaning sign contract).
Oh ya, and the company is SIA. I like the kebaya. It's pretty, but it's a pity that we were not allowed to take photos during the fitting round, nor was there a mirror for us to take a look at ourselves in it...but ultimately, I'll get a chance to wear it again. :)
But Caren asked me to think through carefully. I understand her concerns. She has a friend working for SIA and therefore had heard many stories inside. I'm worried too actually. I know it is definitely not going to be easy, plus the politics and stuff, it's going to be tough. But I hope I can endure for at least 2 years, explored around enough, before I leave and look for a more proper and stable ground job. Another thing that I will have to get used to will be the much-reduced pay after I switch jobs then. A lot of issues to think through before I pen my signature onto the contract...
I did not wanted to say it out at first because I'm afraid that I won't get in, and it'll be quite malu...haha.. but I've managed to get it, so I can reveal what it is le. Ok I know it's stupid theory. Who ask me to mention it in my blog so stupidly in the previous post? haha.. so..luckily I got it... :D
Hmm..I have got to go back to my readings for the lesson tomorrow, and I have to look through the course materials for the Conversational Chinese lesson as well. Going to see the cheeky but cute Malay and Indian Sec 1 kids again. Haha..hope I can do better this time round.

Weekend gone...
I'm going to start teaching Chinese to non-Chinese students @ Teck Whye Secondary School today! So exciting, I'm very curious about the kind of students that I am going to meet. Hee..
Will I be strict to them enough? Will I be too 'soft' and let them have a chance to climb over me? Scared. Not scared of the kids but scared that I would not be able to teach well. :S
Oh wells, shall give my best later, I just hope my voice would not be sacrificed. Haha!
Oh, if you think that your Chinese and Han Yu Pin Yin is not bad, and you are interested in teaching, let me know! $45 per 1.5hrs. Probably slightly higher if they assign you to other secondary schools. I was told that the school that I will be going to teach at is one of the poorest schools in Singapore, hence the rate is lower. Ok la, $45 is not bad liao, imagine working as admin or customer service, 1 hr is only $7, and $7 is considered the higher end of a temporary job pay already. Haha..
Anyway, Taiwan trip planning is more or less done. :D TAIWAN, wait for me!!!
Went for interview yesterday, on a Sunday, some of you would have known what interview is it. I shall not divulge it yet, because the time is not ripe, wahaha!
I've been through like 3 rounds, and left 1 final round, but too bad for me cos by the time I can go for the final round, we were told to go for it another day cos it was quite late (4plus pm) already and they are going to end the interview sessions soon. Haiz. Felt that I've wasted a lot of time, cos there are simply TOO MANY applicants and what we do most of the time is WAITING...WAITING...WAITING... :S
I feel nervous during every round, especially the first one. After that, I feel more or less numb, and tired...
But 1 of the rounds was quite fun, but I can't explain what is it yet. After the final round then I tell you...hehe..
But if I got it, I don't know if I'll feel really happy or not. It's not that Im not interested in the job. But it will take up a lot of my time, and I heard that politics is very common, haha...especially time for my family and friends, which is very important to me. I guess it's time I really grow up and get out of my comfort zone. Hmm...it will really be a good training for me..Provided I get the job of course.
I feel very paiseh towards my friend too, because I managed to get through the rounds and she didn't. And she is the one who is even more interested in getting the job than I do...I don't know how to face her. She is so disappointed, and I felt sad too. The thing is, I can't say anything, I can't even console her. Every word that I say to her will make me sound like 我在讽刺她。I'm not saying that she will definitely feel this way, but I am saying from my point of view. I just feel that the more I say anything, the more I will be hurting her...haiz.. :(
There were even moments that I thought I should fail the last round or forego the last round of interview, so that I will be on the same ground as her again. But the thought of spending half of my Sunday just for this interview, I felt that it would be stupid of me not to go for it. :S
Don't worry, I will go of course. If I told my friend that I'm not going, she will scold me for being stupid too. Haha.
So the interview will be held on Tuesday afternoon @ 1.45pm. Damn it, I got lesson from 2-5pm lor! Sorry my dear CL gang, don't think I will be able to go for 苏老师's lesson on Tuesday liao. Even if it ends early, and I cheong cab down, I think the earliest I could reach is 3plus, but I seriously don't think that it will be so fast..hmm..
I shall go and prepare to teach liao! Wish me good luck! :D

What Title Should I Put?

FRUSTRATED... just now
Kids can really be devils...
When they scream and shout and stamp their feet crying for something that they WANT badly and you can't give it to them...
You'll just feel like dashing out of the house or scream, "SHUT UP!!!" at them...
But you'll also know, it's gonna be fruitless, cos they'll cry and scream even MORE... ROAR!!!!
Suddenly, I have this thought: If I'm gonna have kids, I'll think I won't be able to work, cos I'll have to look after them and TEACH them how to be good kids...
But that also means my husband has to be rich so that he can support a non-working wife and don't-know-how-many kids...wahaha!
Crap aside, I really wanna go nuts everytime I hear them cry or shout. It really can tear you apart...I need PEACE.
Sometimes, it's worse when the maid starts nagging at them...she'll nag non-stop, and it adds on to the noise... :S
And I have to help to look after them if the maid and my mum are not free...that means I can't do my work...last week my niece fell from the sofa and had a baluku on her head due to my negligence.
I cried together with her when I watched her cry in pain. My heart really hurts, and I felt SO GUILTY towards her...that I have been a BAD auntie..failing to look after a kid... :( And of course I kena scolded by my mum... :(
Ok, she's alright now of course, and she continues to climb high and low...and she just used her marker to draw on my readings.. S***, luckily it's for me to read only...haha..
Oh, and not forgetting she DREW on my bed too...dammit..
Oh, and not even forgetting she peed on my parents' bed this morning cos her diapers was OVERLOADED with PEE... hahahaha...
All the while I was referring to my youngest niece...the older one, as stubborn as usual, why are ARIES so stubborn?!?!?!?!
She was crying for her mummy and we all chose to ignore her, let her cry until she's tired and she'll stop, cos the more you talk to her, the more she'll cry and call out for her mother...
So I ignored her cries and silently stuffed a small piece of sugar-coated roti prata into her mouth...PEACE finally...
Conclusion: Sweet stuff STILL work on kids. ;)

New PSP!
I won myself a PSP! yay! :D
Ok everyone will ask me how come I won it...I got it through a NETS Cashcard Monthly Lucky Draw thing...but the final draw will be held this month...and I am one of the Nov/Dec winners...
I never thought I'll be so heng...I always thought that my luck for lucky draws, 4D, toto not so good...so I seldom buy 4D and toto also la...haha..
Then, suddenly, I received an email saying that I won myself a Sony PSP!
It's silver in colour.
Ya, but now, there's problems...
I need a USB cable, a UMD (a game to play so that I can play downloaded games as well), a greater memory card (so far I only got 1 gb, my brother is kind enough to give it to me..hehe)...
And, I need to modify the machine...
~麻烦啊~
Aiyo...which means, I have to spend like about $50 without getting a memory card first...a 4gb memory card costs around $60 according to my brother...
hmm...I think I won't start playing anything till I have those with me...
I know NUTS about PSP...save me.. :S

School start liao!
Ok, I haven't been blogging for a week...was busy doing my ISM proposal..paiseh...hee..
The weekend before my school starts was definitely well-spent. Met up with the juniors last Thursday to celebrate Hui Ting, Zheng Kai and Zhan Yong's SUPER BELATED birthday (their birthdays are in November) at AMK Hub's New York New York, and it was fun-filled and happening..they are really funny...
:D
Then Sat went for choir...practising for the AJ Choir Concert in May...hopefully our songs are allowed... :)
Although I won't be singing for that (most prob will be in Taiwan then.. :P), just go and sing so that my voice won't turn too rusty, and in case the song would be sung at other occasions..so it's better to learn.. :)
Then went to Kee Lee's house with Li Bing for steamboat and stayover!!
But I'm the only one who stayed cos Bing's parents don't allow.. :(
So I slept in the guestroom alone...for the first time...
Before that we watched youtube and talked on msn with some friends...
Don't know when we'll have a complete stayover session again..hmm..one year later perhaps.. Joyce Tan you better come back I tell you!! haha..
On Sunday, I went for a KTV session with the Star Dust group, Marvin, Jiahui and Kevin...it's been a few months since we last met..
Nice singing with them! And the guys are crazy, they managed to sing girls' songs quite well also..can't stand the fact that some guys have much greater range than we girls..haha :S
But singing with them was really fun, cos we tried out Japanese songs and Hokkien songs! haha! Jiahui made each of us sing a Hokkien song! The only song I know best is 《望春风》!! haha..and I purposely sing like Theresa Teng...so fun...haha..
Pics are up on facebook, wanna puke blood uploading here...keep having errors... :(
Anyway, my ISM proposal is finally up! I didn't know Dr Ong will be so 随便 with the proposal..made me felt so stressed about it...in the end he just tell me that it's just a formality...so it's ok to do differently in reality...no need to follow strictly...haha..
He is damn nice la! Last week when I looked for him to talk about ISM, he even stood up and sent me to the door before I leave! Touched man...although he didn't do that today..haha..cos I just went into the room to let him sign the document and rushed off, and he was busy with his work too...
And I saw his profile on the NUS website...he graduated from Harvard Uni with a Ph.D and I guessed he's about 37 years old at least now ba! But he looked damn young! 他很会保养..haha..I wonder if he has kids...cos he never mentioned about them before..and I'm not so close to him to the extent that I can KPO so much..although I'm curious..hehe..
Just realised teachers in the Chinese department are very nice...most of them looked very friendly and approachable to me today, don't know why...maybe except for the newcomers...haha...don't really like the new teachers...but well...im not taking their modules and I won't be taking them anymore...so, who cares? haha..
Ok, 发够花痴了...actually it's quite weird to 发花痴 about teachers too...cos teachers are meant to be respected, and the furthest extent is admiration...that's all...
:)
Lessons were ok, cos 1st week mah, only introduction...so the mood was a relaxed one too..Understanding the Universe seems interesting, the lecturer didn't speak very fluent English, but she is rather hunourous at times...she can say something out of a sudden and make us laugh...
Dr Ng: When you use the telescope to see Jupiter, you'll see the parallel bands made up of blah blah blah...when you use the telescope to see Saturn, you'll be able to see the famous Saturn ring...etc...
When you use the telescope to see the sun, you'll GET PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE....
Students: Bwahahahaha!!!
Ok, perhaps it's hard to demo here just by using words...but you can imagine a female lecturer talking normally and she pops out the last sentence, when you expect her to say, "you'll see...", but instead she says, "you'll get eye damage". It really lightened up the whole boring and quiet atmosphere...
Selected topics in the Chinese Verse is supposed to be damn boring too..luckily Dr Su from Taiwan is interesting and humourous...and with the occasional use of Hokkien in class, it really felt very 亲切...how come teachers nowadays like to use dialect in class so much? haha..but he only said a bit la...so not so bad...ok..that's about all..too many words liao...eyes tired hor? haha..
Alright, Chen Xiangji, jiayou for the last semester of your uni life ba! :D

The Last Week before My Last Semester in NUS...
The past month has been a fruitful holiday for me! Gatherings, BBQs, KTV sessions, stayover, chalet, mahjong, new year countdown, etc...all except work and school...
One word to describe: SHIOKNESS!!!
Met up with the juniors and some members of the alumni choir, AGAIN..haha..getting closer and closer to the alumni people..which is good because hanging out with them = a lot of laughing/scandal/making fun of one another/talking rubbish sessions...
Basically the gathering is a farewell dinner for Jing Kang, who is going Tekong island tomorrow!!! :P
All of us!
Jing Kang (left) and Gerald (right)I realised it's the 2 of them again...haha..
Nad and I continue to act cute! Oops...we ARE cute...LOL
I think I should be doing ISM(Independent Study Module) which is almost like a thesis..
Dr Ong is SUPER nice...he offers me a lot of ideas and is very patient in explaining the ideas to me..before I left his office he even stood up and sent me off! Where else to find such a nice teacher now?!
Would feel very 对不起 him if I don't do it..but time is running out too! I'm supposed to come out with the reading list and introduction of the essay and the research methods etc by next week!! OMG OMG OMG...how???
Anyway, met the CL gang for KTV after meeting Dr Ong..sang for 5 hours and halfway through singing everyone felt sian already...haha..so funny..but I was quite 'voiceless' though..no energy to sing..can't support..and I kept using my 'real' voice to sing, even the high notes...going to sore throat liao lor..LOL
At the beginning, everyone was energetic...
After 2-3hrs, we all began to feel sian...haha...
Even the singers are sian...
At the end of everything, Diane saw her 'hubby' and was very happy cum paiseh to take a photo with 'him'...haha!
Then all of us took a photo with 'him'...
Before going home...took one 大头照... :)

SN Gang Chalet 30th Dec - 1 Jan 2008
Ok, it's time to post pics of our chalet!
The gals LOVE mahjong so much that they can play it anywhere!
They were playing on a towel...
How are they going to shuffle the tiles?
Chiang chiang chiang chiang!!! The best way to shuffle the tiles man..but beware of flying tiles!!!
On the other hand...we were playing Settler...or isit called something else? I can't remember...
So this is how it looks when 2 groups are playing in a chalet room...
Machiam gambling den...
It's steamboat time!
We literally had a pail of vegetables...we are mad...LOL
While waiting for the food to be cooked, we deceided to pose for some pics...
I was too full...
And my gf said I looked like a dog here...laughed at me for quite some time... -_-|||
A more 'cool' pic to compensate the previous joke...I love to play pool! Not enough pool for me! Pool, anyone??? *Grinz*
On our way for dinner and countdown!!
We went to Esplanade there to wait for the fireworks...a whole 5-6hrs of waiting...aching butts and numbed legs...one experience is enough... LOL
We have our ways of entertaining ourselves..camwhoring plus dai dee, mahjong cards (yes, mahjong again...and we used poker cards to replace the dice cos we had forgotten to bring along the dice...
Nice night-scene...courtesy of yy... :)
Look at the people...this is not a very good reflection of the crowd but if you see carefully...there's actually quite a lot of people..it's night time so you may need to strain your eyes a little further... :P
The wishing balls (or what are they called?) floating on the river! And the colour changes with the spot lights...nice but also...kinda extra...haha...
Fireworks! Yay!
But some moments I thought I was going to be hit by the falling residue...thanks to yy's warning that some of these may get into our eyes and it can be quite painful for those who are wearing contact lenses if hit... LOL
School is starting soon for the NUS people but it is starting tomorrow for the NTU and SMU people! Jiayou friends! It's time to start getting busy liao! :)

Happy New Year to Everyone!!
Hey! Happy New Year! Goodbye 2007! Goodbye to all the bad things that happened in the past!
Olympics is coming...
It's my graduation year...
It's the first year that I OFFICIALLY (HAVE TO) step into the working world...(welcome me..LOL)
etc...lazy to list...
What's my new year resolution? Hmm...
1. To be more patient and less impulsive.
2. To be more hardworking and less lazy.
3. To learn to learn myself more and stop putting myself down and keep comparing myself with others, i.e learn to accept myself for who I am and like myself more, including my weakpoints.
4. To be less hot-tempered.
5. To jiayou for my studies and find a suitable job.
6. To be more understanding and less selfish.
7. To be more humourous (not necessarily lame) and active so that I can make people around me happy. That also means to restrain myself from showing black face if I'm unhappy. 我要记住:别人没有必要看你的脸色...
Hmm...that's about all at the moment...hope I can at least improve a bit..haha...
Anyway, it has been a SUPER DUPER busy week!!!
Been out everyday and went for chalet and countdown!
