I really like this song. It's a very nice song to chill with. Comfortable. :)

更drama的是,我被activated for work on the next day...which is today...and I have to cancel my dinner appointment with my friends! :(

Economy Class Syndrome...

Talk about some trips

Recently I had been to Japan and Beijing, and I would like to share some things that I had seen overseas which are interesting, but may not be new to you all..

I arrived in Japan on New Year day, and they have a tradition of inviting guests to drink Sake on New Year. Thus I had my first experience of drinking Sake, in Japan somemore! I was very excited about it actually, hehe. The hotel offered us one cup of Sake each when we arrived. It somehow tasted like Vodka, but it was less pungent (I think) and very smooth to drink.

Conclusion: It was quite nice, and it should taste better if it was hot. :)

The "mountain" of Sake cups at the hotel.

The Japanese are a very civilised group of people (let's not mention about history here..). Just like the local Taoists who would go to the temples to pray for good luck and good fortune in the year ahead, the Japanese also flock to their temples during New Year to pray. And they are very very "guai"...they queue up to go into the temple! Some of the queues are even in single-file...goodness...I don't think we will ever see that in Singapore anytime soon..

But this is a picture of the crowd squeezing to queue before they reached the temple.

Then on New Year day, the group of us had a gathering at the hotel for New Year dinner, as organised by the company. So for the whole night we ate, drank and watched TV...

Oh next is Beijing...went there with my "training classmate"..was super happy and excited about the flight..cos I do not need to work as much, and it's my first time to Beijing! Too bad, due to time constraints and weather restrictions, I do not have the chance to sightsee over there...
I shall wait for summer, or when the weather is not as cold...and I will brave my way to The Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square! Wait for me! :D

Happy New Year!

Ok ya this post lagged for like...FIVE days...haha! But never mind lah, who cares? It's just another day and year, but remember to change your dates to 2009 instead of 2008, that's all...

New Year resolutions ah, I don't have the habit of doing that...I always don't plan, no organisation, no planning, no goals etc...
I am a very "impromptu" person...haha...that's why, I'm also messy and "anyhow"...

Well, one of my goals that I want or hope to accomplish, is to learn and pass my driving...it's kind of a dream of mine to know how to drive since young, but because of financial constraints, I was not able to fulfil this little dream until now, when I have a job, and I can finally save up some money to learn driving... :)

And one little secret...

Everytime when my Dad or brothers are on the road, if they met some kayu drivers, they will say that the driver must be a lady...and almost 100% of the times, they are true...
So, my wish of wanting to drive is also, in a way, a desire to prove them wrong...that not all female drivers are kayu...
I'm kinda 大女人 in this sense..always 不服气 when guys think in a certain way...about ladies...

Another good example is our sense of direction...recently met a colleague...he asked a lady for directions, and she seemed to be unsure about the area...so he feels that females' sense of direction is very bad...which is what he has experienced before...
I told him jokingly that there's a female here (referring to myself), so don't say this kind of things in front of me because it's kinda rude...then he said, "then you lead the way lor!"
I kept quiet..cos I don't know what to say...I admit my sense of direction is not very good, but it's not that bad...just that I need more time to read the map, get my bearings right before I can get the correct direction...but if all the while I know where I am going, I will be able to get to the destination...

Well...I just feel kinda 不服气 when he said that..haha..yet I feel useless that I was not able to prove myself right...
Next time I shall jiayou! So guys, stop looking down at females ok!

Got one colleague said I not bad cos I was the one who brought him to take the correct trains in Paris ok... but he took me around Paris lah.. haha..

Copenhagen

Hey all! I'm in Copenhagen now..internet is free in this hotel, so shiok ah...I can use internet the whole day...hee..

This is a very special Christmas for me. Although everywhere is closed here, I had my share of fun and nice memories... :)

Only regret: I did not get to see a white Christmas...but the weather is damn cold... -2 degree Celcius! Freezing man...
But cold on the outside, warm in the heart.. :)

I will be going back to Singapore in a few hours' time! It's 7.07am here now, 1020am the plane will take off for Singapore...

Home sweet home! Yay! :D

Anyway, this is dedicated to Naimin: Happy Birtday to you! I know it's 27th, not 28th yet, but here's a greeting from me in advance! Cya tomorrow! :D

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas to all! Ok, I know there's another 2 days before Christmas, but I will be working so this is an early greetings to all of you! :P

I am getting more used to being alone..in fact, I like being alone! Especially when I go out overseas, shop alone, eat alone, walk alone, drink coffee alone...
Ok, probably that's a sign of me becoming anti-social..what an irony, my job making me more anti-social...LOL...

Well...being the straightforward me...说话总是口无遮拦...my bad...always say things without thinking twice...and worse is that I say things that hurt others...happily!
So ends up it seems as if I'm proud and talking down to people...especially friends that I love.. :(
Sometimes I even make jokes at the expense of others' pride..and it can be hurtful, no matter how unintentional I want to be..

Sometimes I wish my mouth can only sing, and that's all..
But I guess that's not going to be the way I grow to be a better person..I have to learn how to speak and listen wisely...talk only when necessary..if I can't joke, then I might as well just remain a boring person as I am now..sometimes try too hard will get negative results...WORSE!

To the people whom I have hurt by my words or actions, I apologise! :)
I am really sorry to have said things that will be better off left unsaid...but I know that the damge has been done. I don't know if any of you will read this, but I have no intention of putting you down when I said certain things. I just lack the wisdom of phrasing my words properly before they come out of my mouth. In the end, they hurt.

Anyway, nowadays I can't even catch my colleagues' jokes..especially the guys'..their jokes are simply too chim for me to understand, or we are just of very different frequency...oh well...as long as they are happy and don't tekan me can le..I just wanna work my share and get my money...haha..

:)

Thank you my dear friends!

Hey all...

Thank you so much for all your concern! My dad is fine! :D

He's recuperating at NUH now and he's recovering slowly. We are not sure if there is a need for him to undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy treatment, but we will find out from the doctor on Monday, which is tomorrow. Currently he still cannot eat anything except to drink water...

Tonight I will be flying off to Adelaide and will only be back on Tuesday evening. By then I will update again.. :)

Thanks again for everything my dear friends!

For choir peeps: I will be flying around during Christmas, and it is so coincidental that I would not be in town on all your performance dates.. :( which means I cannot join you guys AT ALL... SIANZ...
You all jiayou ok! I will give you all moral support no matter where I am! :D

I love AJ Alumni Choir!

Life is unpredictable

This kinda title always give people a negative feeling, doesn't it?

Haha! Well, life is not that negative for me, but some hiccups here and there... Which is enough already.

Work is fine, I just came back from San Francisco and Korea (Incheon). Worked hard and 挂了彩. haha. Got awarded a cut on my index finger and a burnt mark on my arm. Please, don't become a permanent mark, if not I will wonder if my company will continue to keep me or not. LOL

The 2 places are fun, went sightseeing, shopping, had good food. I had breakfast buffet at the hotel in SFO and had dinner buffet at the hotel in Incheon, with my colleagues. They are very nice to me, and I received praises of my good attitude at work.. :)

But, I did not really enjoy myself that much too.

The day before I flew, my dad went for a body check up at NUH and he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, after 9 years, but this time, it's on the opposite as before. So, the irritating thing is, after knowing this, I still have to report for work in the early morning on the next day.. I got to work as normal, smile to colleagues and customers... and to be away for 7 whole days.. not able to accompany my dad...

On Wednesday, the results of the CT scan came out. There is cancer but luckily there is no spread to other organs and whatsoever. I was relieved, but I seriously can't wait to go home... :S

My parents were so happy to see me back at home. Especially papa... I can see and feel his sense of relief when he sees me back at home. And he started WHINING to me...LOL..so cute..

But, that also shows his insecurity and fear. Now, it's my turn to give a sense of security to my parents. And I am glad that I am able to provide that security for them. Switching of roles. When we were young, we often have to rely on our parents for everything we need. Perhaps many of us are still relying on our parents, including myself of course, because most of our parents are still healthy and working to provide for the family. But after this incident, I suddenly realise, things may change all of a sudden. Everything can swap positions. So, we have to be prepared. We are already adults, right?

My dad will be undergoing an operation on Friday, and he will be admitted to the hospital on Thursday, hope I won't be called up for work on Wednesday so that I can go with him, together with my brother. He is scared. Who won't? Last night he could not sleep. He told my mum that he is afraid. Haiz...poor papa... I hope after the operation he will become very healthy and happy. Same for my mama..she's been suffering as well...

Everything will be alright! :)

St Paul and St Peter's Church (where Marilyn Monroe got married)

Inside the church. It's a Catholic church...so during the prayer, I suddenly felt a sense of "belonging" to it, reminds me of my secondary school days.. :)

Digress a bit here...this pic was taken in Auckland. Very pretty right? It contains the envelopes and hotel information...if you wanna bring them home, especially the box..you gotta pay... :)

Seals! Oops..sorry they are sea lions and not seals.. acoording to the description at the Wharf..there's a difference between sea lions and seals... most of it that we see at the zoos which performed are sea lions and not seals.. I forgot what's the difference... hehe..

I like this pic. The gal is pretty and the guy is suave and cool...ahem...I mean the other gal looks handsome...but gals, pls don't fall for me cos I'm straight! LOL!!
(OMG pls don't throw shoes at me!! I'm just joking! :P)

Good attitude and Positive Thinking goes a long way

Hi all!

As usual, I'm just back here to crap a bit..haha..

Been working for 2.5 months, and things are getting better, at least I am more used to the job liao..won't get so dreadful..

And I received some compliments from my superiors, saying I have a very good attitude and I'm enthusiastic about the job, and they ask me to keep it up. :)

I do not wish to become complacent or too comfortable with the job. I mean, once I become more senior, I can just go for flights, not prepared, as long as I know my work. But I don't like the feeling of being caught off-guard unprepared, especially when the leaders ask me questions about the job. I don't like being "blur blur" during work and then get criticised, of course, who likes that? No one. It makes me feel useless and irresponsible. I have seen some bo chap people. Really bo chap. For example, things that we can do, or give to customers, because of the inconvenience, they just said we cannot do this, or we cannot give that. I know it's inconvenient, but it's part of the job right? Customers pay so much, our salary is not little also, since it's just a simple request, why be so pek chek about it?

Anyway, I agree with what some seniors said, when you knowyour job better, you will start to enjoy more when you are not working. It's true, I am not saying that I know my job very well now, I still get corrected everytime I work, but generally, I am more or less ok, so as things get easier, I can interact with my colleagues better, and when we're out together, I won't feel that uptight and uncomfotable anymore. That's something good. How I wish I can become senior soon, clear my probation, then I think I can really enjoy what I am doing. :)

Anyway, things should not be too easy. Challenges are good for improvement. The more experiences we get, the more things we learn, and the more knowledge and wisdom you will achieve.

Say YES to difficulties, obstacles and challenges!

Finally can load some pics!

Athens

Went to Athens from Tuesday till Saturday. It was a beautiful city and it is very historical...too bad I did not join the hotel tours to find out more about the place. My colleague went for the tour alone and heard that she went to a theatre that has very fantastic accoustics. She said if you drop a pin in the middle of the theatre (provided it's silent of course), you can hear the sound of the dropping pin throughout the theatre...imagine one day, if AJ or AJ Alumni choir has the chance to go there and perform..woohoo! Shiok! :D (Think too much)

We went to Acropolis and the town centre where there are flea markets and shops...the flea markets don't really look like flea markets to me...or rather, they are not really the kind of flea markets we see in Singapore...they cater more to tourists...so basically many shops sell the same stuff...local food products, accessories, etc etc...

Captain was very nice to bring us around...with him and another guy around, we gals felt very relieved...with them asking around for us, navigating the place using the maps etc, we felt very safe...haha...gals...haiz...
Being the usual kpo me, I tried learning how to read maps from the Captain...actually it's not that difficult, just that I have very "moody" direction sense, sometimes OK sometimes cui...lol...

The weather was nice too! 16 degrees to around 20+...very cooling and comfortable...as compared to Singapore..aiya...cant compare lah...Singapore's weather, only one word to describe: CUI

Dammit, I can't upload any pics... sian...

I'm back!!!

Im sorry my dear friends...MIA for ONE MONTH! How are you all??? :)

Oops...not on purpose...always wanna blog, but plenty of excuses to avoid blogging, lazy lah, no time lah, forget lah...whatever...haha

For the past month I've been to quite a number of places...Japan, South Africa, China, Paris, Bombay, Dubai and so on...

Took quite a number of pictures, so it's totally impossible for me to upload them here...so..please click here if you are interested to see where I've been...hee..

For the Paris pics, half of the pics are my colleague's pics, I just copied and paste his pics into my com that time, so that we don't have to waste time sorting out.. so the room was his! My room was bigger and nicer..lol

Went to Shanghai to look for dear Joyce, passed her the mooncakes and other stuff bought by her mummy...and we went Qi Pu Road to shop!!! (together with my colleague as well)
Shopping was great, things were cheap and we hada great time together. The best part was taking "Tut tut" (those small taxis you see in Thailand) back to our hotel...the people there, according to Joyce, has no concept of time wan, the uncle was telling us that 3 of us can squeeze into the "car", and the journey is only 20min...

WAH LAO, the journey was 45min long! And we all agreed that the uncle is very zai..in fact the people there has very "hiong"(fierce) driving skills...this uncle, in order to avoid the jam, actually drove up to the pedestrian walkway and went back down to the road...at their high class shopping area lah! We were laughing throughout the journey man...amazed by how we actually got such an experience...
I even got cramps on my right leg...it was totally numb, and I can't feel my heels touching the bottom at all... :S

We were fated to take that Tut tut...cos initially we wanted to go back to hotel and eat our dinner near the hotel, then we could not get any cabs..the same tut tut uncle wanted to take us, but we refused, so we went to Mac to eat instead, thinking we may get transport after some time...

So we went back to the road, and the same tut tut uncle came back! He was laughing at us, saying that he had just came back from 1 trip and we are still there! (What the...) So bo bian...running out of time le..so we took the tut tut back... haha.. what a super long story...

Ok lah, regarding my job, I'm getting the hang of it le I think...of course still a bit blur every now and then, but I think I got the gist le...and I'm more confident to speak to passengers le...especially during safety checks... :)

But every time before work, I'll tend to become moody...dread going to work...got emotional..struggling inside me...and suddenly recalling all the unhappy things that has happened to me in these few months...emotional struggle...sometimes pulling me apart...not to mention that I gotta plan my finances, getting insurance and stuff...all the little little things...I'm such a messy person with a messy life and I'm trying to sort it out and simplify things with whatever little free time I have...

Feel confused sometimes, and sian...about my life, especially my future...what is my future going to be like? How long will I stay in this job? What kind of job will I get next time? Fancy worrying about this when I just started work..I have to tell myself, I had betta try to enjoy this part of my life now, my job, etc...because once it's over, it's over, and I have to move on...time waits for no man...

So tired sometimes...but I wanna be happy!!! I wanna be happy! Luckily I'm blessed with a great family and friends whom I can turn to for support...

Guess I have to learn to stop thinking so much.

Wish everyone have a fulfilling life and future! Live the moment! Learn to enjoy and appreciate whatever you are doing now and all the other things that are coming your way!

Greener pasture on the other side??

Once my colleague told us before...

Why do you think the pasture is greener on the other side?

Some of us thought it's because of human psychology, some don't know, etc...

He answered:" Because the other side has more shit lah! Fertilise the grass that's why the pasture is greener what.."

Haha..quite true...sometimes from our side we thought that other people are better, their jobs are better etc...but who knows? Maybe they have more shit work to handle?

:P

So what's next?

Recently many things happened to me...

Makes me very tired...

and yet I have to put on my mask everytime I put on my uniform...no wonder some instructors say many actresses/actors were former "colleagues"...can act very well...maybe soon I'll be a 变脸大师 even...

Anyway...regarding Dubai...aiyo it was SUPER hot...40+ degrees vs 30+ degrees at night...my colleagues brought me out to buy their local snacks and we all had dinner before going back hotel to rest...

Had a gathering at one of the colleagues' room and we played Dai Dee, a few rounds and sian already..and we had beer also..I sounded like a bad girl hor? I drank one can of Heineken...then we all chit chatted..about all kinds of things, about life/work experiences...all the way till Spore time 6am before we went back our own rooms to sleep..I was the only one who stayed at a different level with the rest...the "manager" also but he's the most senior of course different...then me being the most junior I got the lowest floor...LOL...

Luckily everything was fine...just that when I ate lunch in the room halfway, wanting to watch TV, so I meddled with the remote, but the TV channel's don't work...then after a while the TV switched on itself...but the channels were blurred...crazy TV...anyway, it was broad daylight...I opened the curtains wan...so don't think too much..some TVs are quite auto wan... :)

so I stayed in my room, watching TV the whole time, slept, wrote my diary and went to sleep before I prepare myself to go work again....

The food we had at a Dubai restaurant..shiok..the mutton curry and chicken...I love their Naan (which means bread)... each person ard S$14 ba...reasonable.. :)

And the view from my hotel room...they seem to be having construction everywhere...so nothing much lor...but it's really HOT HOT HOT...

Some thoughts recently

Changed my song profile...my current favourite song...石欣卉's 《我知道我变漂亮了》..the show 《一切完美》 was nice, and the song is also good, I like the lyrics...written by 石欣卉 herself.

(Let it go, let it go)
(Let it go, let it go)

时刻都善良待人 (let's move on, let's move on)
时刻都做好本分 (let's move on, let's move on)

时刻都善良待人 (let's move on, let's move on)
时刻都做好本分 (let's move on, let's move on)

I'm going to Dubai tomorrow! Coming back on Thursday morning 9am...means a night flight for me again...shag but also good, that means people will be sleeping...hiaks...

Seriously, currently at the initial stage, the job is tiring...and transition from a student to a working adult is kind of a drastic change, especially having to cope with the job...cos this job is kinda...special...
Sometimes I will even think, why did I want to try for this job in the first place...haha...the whole thing seems to have no link to my character at all...and that also explains the surprised faces when everyone knows that I'm into it...LOL...

Well, I think I really need time to adapt to all the changes, from a student to a working adult, irregular working hours, irregular working days, tons of DIFFERENT people I see everytime including colleagues...drastic change is the NORM for this job...I guess everyone who just got in also took quite some time to adapt ba...

I heard some people cry cos they kena scolded badly for the first day at work, some cried cos they cannot stand the loneliness overseas, all sorts...so far, I'm ok...still praying hard for myself though...haha...

I'm still blur and slow...TRYING hard to be steady...and I really must exercise lots!!! No strength to carry trays and pulling carts! Amazing!! LOL..

Oh...but...I don't really feel that excited having to go overseas leh...jialat..instead I feel very happy when I touched down in Spore...cos it's home sweet home! Maybe as what I've mentioned earlier, I need more time to adapt..and this job actually makes me realised that I missed my loved ones very much..and I should treasure having them around me even more...even my parents, I can feel that I talk to them a lot more nowadays, and they are seizing every moment to communicate with me when I'm home...not as if we aren't close before...but we are even closer now... :)

And it also made me miss someone even more too...i hope it's the same the other way round... :)

I'm off on coming Friday (22 Aug), Sunday (24 Aug), 30 Aug (Saturday evening cos I come back from Paris in the morning, I need to slp..hee), 31 Aug & 01 Sep (Sunday and Monday), 04 Sep (Thursday), 06 Sep (Saturday)...so far that's all I have... :)

Shanghai and Adelaide trips

Hey friends, I'm back!

MIA too long le...not free and kinda lazy to blog...hee...I don't even have time to read friends' blogs now...so not sure how's everyone's doing nowadays...so sorry!!! :S

Just came back from Adelaide and Shanghai...Adelaide was cold and dark when I was there...winter mah, then Shanghai was hot and humid, but fun! :D

Taken in Adelaide from my room...Hilton Hotel...I stayed on the 3rd level and 2nd level has a swimming pool! But too bad it's winter so no point being so happy...LOL

The Shanghai Millenium Hotel...This is part of the room...notice the toilet, got glass window that you can look into from the room...hiaks... *don't think too much, I stayed alone..* :P

Further back is the sofa...

This makes the room even bigger! The room is seriously huge..bigger than the living room in my house now...

My Indian friend took this pic for me...she has studied a bit of photography before...not bad sia...? :)

The 2 friends I went Shanghai with... :) We were on a cruising tour around Shanghai's "City Hall" area, I supposed...

Are these part of 外滩? I'm not sure...but I know that area got 外滩,or what we people like to say “上海滩”...LOL

Soon I'll be going to some other places like Dubai, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Paris, Perth, Chennai (India) etc...till early Sep...some are just for a day...if you get what i mean...so won't really get to shop...Paris will be fun I hope..hee..so far that will be the furthest place I will go... :)

When I'm not so lazy again I will put the dates of when I'm free here...pardon for my lousy and weird English..many things are kinda inconvenient to mention...so please do me a favour, don't mention anything on the chat box also..thank you very much! :D
